Welcome to Brimfield Township, the City of Kent and the greater Portage County Region! On behalf of our businesses and residents, we extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. Portage County, conveniently located in Northeast Ohio’s educational and recreational heartland, features a robust economy, a rural small town environment and all the amenities of Northeast Ohio within a one-hour drive. Brimfield and Kent are located approximately 12 miles northeast of Akron and 31 miles southeast of Cleveland. In addition to our world class attraction, Wildwater Kingdom Portage County is also home to Kent State University, Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Hiram College. The region offers you a place to buy unique gifts from artisans, craftsman and merchants. Plus, visitors can enjoy live music and eateries in a cozy, historic atmosphere. Finally, our area is blessed with an extensive park system/ natural resources as well as many festivals and events throughout the year to capture the local flavor.

Lori Wemhoff What Exactly Does the CPCVCB Do?.. Promotes Tourism for Brimfield Township, Kent and the Greater Portage County Region! The Central Portage County Visitors Bureau (CPCVCB) was officially created in August of 2001. The mission of the bureau is to promote the tourism industry of Brimfield, Kent, and the greater Portage County region utilizing all of the attractions and points of interest available throughout the County to enhance the overall economy of Brimfield, Kent and the entire region. Since the Bureau’s inception, numerous community programs and projects have been developed and implemented to accomplish this goal. The Bureau operates a full time information center Monday through
Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Other important services include local and
toll-free phone lines, a web site, an annual visitors guide (20,000 copies
are produced) as well as a full time staff to answer community inquiries
from both visitors and residents alike. The Bureau is a “one-stop shop”
for anyone looking to learn about all of the amenities and services our
local area businesses have to offer. Each month, the Visitor Bureau
answers hundreds of requests for community information via the phone and
internet. We put “heads in beds” for our local hotels, retail and service
industries!
